ALEGORIA IX

I take the great masters of the 15th century as my teachers, I decide to observe them closely, to study the figures, faces... to finally reveal an intimate and personal Renaissance, where matter gracefully recedes to give way to the imperishable world of mystical forms. I use the *collage* technique: with Valencian silks on a wooden support, I am inspired by Mediterranean art and take classical sculpture as a key reference in its most recent artistic manifestation. Details of *unpainted* or *depainted* can be appreciated. Unlike what can be interpreted as an empty space in the composition, the *unpainted* is a strategy to create mystery: so that the viewer is the one who paints, who finishes the work with their gaze. The pictorial composition is thoroughly studied; it is a play of tensions and weights in search of balance.
