Artistic Ceiling Carving «Sol» – unique author's work – 240 × 240 cmA unique work, conceived and executed entirely by the artist This extraordinary ornamental ceiling carving is a unique and original work of art in wood, conceived, designed, and executed entirely by me, Stefan Doychinov. I personally carried out the entire creation process for over ten months, from the first drawing to the final finishing of the work, without the intervention of other artisans or workshops. The process began with the elaboration of the drawing and the 1:1 full-scale project. I then personally carried out the selection, preparation, sawing, and cutting of the wood, followed by the entire manual carving process, the assembly of the different elements, and, finally, the preparation and application of the protective finish. The work is made of excellent quality natural linden wood, carefully selected and perfectly dry, suitable for a large-format artistic carving. Each element of the composition has been manually crafted, aiming for precision, depth, balance, and harmony throughout the ensemble. The complete process includes: design and 1:1 full-scale drawing; preparation, sawing, and cutting of the wood; elaboration of all ornamental elements; completely manual artistic carving; assembly of the different parts; surface preparation; final finish with varnish and wax protection. The creation of this work required more than ten months of personal and specialized labor. The symbolism of «Sol» The design is inspired by the image of the Sun, conceived as a symbol of light, life, prosperity, and harmony. The large central rosette is formed by two rows of rays that intertwine and progressively merge, stylized in the shape of wheat ears. Wheat ears symbolically represent fertility, abundance, prosperity, and fullness. At the center of the composition is a delicate openwork floral arrangement, formed by flowers and leaves arranged in a continuous circle, without beginning or end. This circular shape symbolizes eternity, continuity, and infinity. In the heart of the composition appears a fully open rose, conceived as a symbol of affection, love, and harmony. The central rose is detachable and allows for the installation of a ceiling lamp or a chandelier, integrating lighting into the center of the composition without altering its artistic character. Finish and protection After finalizing the carving and assembly, I personally carried out the final treatment of the work. The wood has been prepared, primed, and protected with a varnish and wax finish featuring UV protection, humidity resistance, and a satin effect. This finish provides durable protection while preserving the natural beauty and warmth of the linden wood. Dimensions and transport system Total dimensions of the installed composition: 240 × 240 cm – 5.76 m² To considerably facilitate transport and handling, the main structure of the carving is divided into two panels of 120 × 240 cm each. Additionally, the large central rosette «Sol» is transported as an independent and complete piece, separate from the two main panels. Diameter of the central rosette: 140 cm. This solution allows the work to be transported much more conveniently and safely than if it were a single 240 × 240 cm piece. Prepared for precise mounting During the creation of the work, I also anticipated the needs for its future installation. I have incorporated the corresponding holes and fixing points, designed to facilitate precise and simple assembly of the different parts. The division into two 120 × 240 cm panels, along with the independent 160 cm diameter central rosette, allows for much more practical handling during transport and installation. Transport Due to the dimensions and unique nature of the work, transport will be organized directly by the buyer and will be entirely at their expense. The buyer may choose and contract the specialized carrier they deem most suitable for the final destination. The work will be delivered for transport only after full payment is received. A truly unique work of art Due to its dimensions, complexity, quality of materials, symbolism, and, above all, the time and personal effort invested in its creation, this piece should not be considered merely as a decorative element for a ceiling. It is a large-format artistic carving, conceived and personally executed by the artist over more than ten months. The entire process—from the 1:1 scale drawing, through the preparation and cutting of the wood, manual carving and assembly, to the final finish—has been carried out exclusively by me. It is not a reproduction, it is not an industrial piece, and it is not part of a series. It is a unique and original work by Stefan Doychinov. A piece intended for an interior where artistic craftsmanship, exclusivity, and the presence of a large-format work can be fully appreciated.
