Oil on MDF board. 37 x 37 cm. Signed on the front. To paint this artwork, I felt inspired by the bittersweet feelings evoked by warm autumn sunsets, when the days sadly get shorter and shorter, but on the other hand, you also want to welcome the magic of winter. The backlit leaf gives the warmth and soul I was looking for. The twilight-based background creates a contrast between the great luminosity of the sky and the increasing darkness below the horizon. My aim was for the leaf to stand out in this way, giving a slight three-dimensional effect.
