Artwork inspired by 4 books on feminism: "Teoría King Kong" by Virginie Despentes, "Todos deberíamos ser feministas" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, "Neoliberalismo sexual. El mito de la libre elección" by Ana de Miguel and "Morder la manzana" by Leticia Dolera. The artwork is read from the right, and the first figure we see is a dancer who represents the past of women where she dances alone, immersed in the domestic space, a space where she has historically been relegated. Immediately to her left we see a woman in a sexual game with a man practicing cunnilingus, far from the purely phallocentric act. She is followed by a woman touching herself, and on her arms one can read "know yourself. It is not a sin". In the center, a physically assaulted woman puts on a boxing glove. Virginie Despentes complains in her book why women have never been taught to defend themselves, but rather to silence any harm and to pretend that nothing happened. I highly recommend reading her book. In the center left, there is a woman embracing a planet, identified here with the universal. Her left hand releases some keys, the domestic. This is the necessary step in which women conquer the public, universal space, until now almost exclusively destined for men, and abandon the domestic space to which they were destined. At the bottom we see a couple of a new man with a new woman. Because feminism belongs to both men and women. Gender equality is a liberation for women but also for men. This new man is demanded to appear, to leave behind the sexist burden of patriarchy and to love as a new man, to love with a love that empowers, to love femininely. And finally, at the far left there is a woman encouraging to abandon this patriarchal reality and start anew in a hopeful space.
