Macister Rodriguez

Macister Rodríguez (Ciudad de Panamá, 1985) is a contemporary visual artist whose practice is based on the exploration of magical realism through painting. His career began early in 2000, a connection that evolved from a personal interest into rigorous academic training. He is a graduate of Ganexa University of Art, where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, consolidating the technical foundations that underpin his current production. Since 2012, Rodríguez has developed an active proposal that primarily uses oil paint to capture the interaction between his environment and nature. His work is characterized by a contemporary visuality where organic elements are transformed under a modern gaze. Through his technique, the artist successfully integrates direct observation of reality with the narrative and symbolic possibilities inherent in magical realism. Macister Rodríguez's work proposes a dialogue between pictorial tradition and contemporary sensibility, focusing on nature's ability to evoke unique atmospheres.
